A Guide to UAE’s New Visa Rules Effective in September - Dacha

UAE Cabinet approves an updated visa system. The changes allow greater flexibility in the job market and make it easier to attract and retain global talents.

From September, male children up to the age of 25 will be able to stay with their parents, rather than just until 18. The goal is to foster stability among families and make the UAE more competitive in the job field.

Regarding entries, 60-day passes for visitors will go into effect, as will a system to make it easier for graduates, especially tech talent, to enter the country. Skilled professionals on salaries of Dh30,000 ($8,100) or more will be eligible for Golden Visas.

Today, let's dive deeper into the essential things you need to know about UAE's new visa rules. Here's what you need to know:

New Benefits for Family Members

In addition to parents and spouses, family members of Green cardholders now also include unmarried children over the age of 25 and any dependents with disabilities who are over 25 years old.

Green card holders can now sponsor any first-degree relatives, regardless of their age or marital status. Their dependents can also apply for permanent residence the same way the primary applicant does.

Job Exploration Entry Visa

This visa aims to attract young, talented individuals and skilled professionals to the UAE. The visa does not require a sponsor or a job in the UAE. It is granted to individuals classified as skill level I, II, or III on the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation's occupational scale and to the latest college graduates from universities ranked within the top 500 worldwide. The minimum educational requirement is a bachelor's degree.

Multi-Entry Tourist Visa

The 90-day multi-entry visa is available to citizens of most countries who either have a valid residence visa in the UAE or a valid visa issued by one of the GCC countries.

The multi-entry visa is valid for six months and gives applicants the right to remain in the country for up to 90 days each time they come.

What is a Golden Visa?

The Golden Visa grants long-term visa privileges, residence, and access to many other benefits. It is available to investors and skilled citizens who have applied for a residence visa through the Emirates Identity Authority.

To be eligible for the Golden Visa, an applicant must hold a valid residence visa for one year and have an annual income of at least Dh30,000. The applicant must spend at least 240 days in the UAE each year.

Golden Visa for Sponsoring Family and Domestic Workers

The Golden Visa is granted to applicants who have a residence visa in the UAE and hold a job that pays at least AED 30,000. It gives them the right to sponsor their families and domestic workers.

The Golden Visa requires the applicant to deposit AED 500,000 ($135,107) to a designated bank account. The money in this bank account can only be used to sponsor the applicant’s family members or dependents. The account can also sponsor the employee and dependents of the applicant’s business. Once the deposit is made, the applicant is eligible to sponsor their family members and domestic workers.

The Bottom Line

The UAE has just announced some very exciting changes to its visa system. With the new visa changes, families can be reunited, and a more diverse range of people can come to the UAE looking for work.

With its strong economy and stable leadership, the UAE is a fantastic place to do business while enjoying the beautiful weather and gorgeous scenery.
