No More Masks: The Updated Rules For Wearing A Mask In Dubai - Dacha

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of face masks has become ubiquitous around the world. In Dubai, the use of face masks has also been made mandatory in certain public settings, such as in malls and on public transport.

However, as the city starts to ease restrictions and people start to return to their normal lives, the rules on face masks are also changing. Here is everything you need to know about the new rules for wearing a face mask in Dubai.

The NCEMA has announced that people in the UAE will no longer be required to wear masks in most public spaces starting from Monday, September 26. This includes places such as malls, schools, hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets.

However, face masks must still be worn in the following settings:

- In Hospitals

- In public transport

- In places of worship

- People With suspected Covid-19 cases

So, if you are going to be in any of the above situations, make sure you have a face mask with you.

It is also important to note that, even though the use of face masks is not mandatory in all settings, it is still recommended by the Dubai Health Authority. So, if you can, try to wear a face mask as much as possible, especially when you are near other people.

What are the COVID-19 rules in UAE schools?

Face masks are no longer required to be worn inside schools by students or staff.

Social separation inside educational facilities is no longer required and is left to the discretion of each facility.

Students who are unable to get vaccinated due to medical reasons or who have been exempted from immunizations may attend school.

Students and teachers at public schools are no longer required to have their temperatures taken, but those who develop a fever are not permitted to attend courses.

At the moment, bus drivers and attendants must continue to wear masks and sanitize their hands.

How Long is the Quarantine for Positive Cases?

As of today, the quarantine period for all positive cases of COVID-19 has been reduced from 10 days to 5 days. The decision was made by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and the new quarantine period will be applicable to all cases, regardless of whether they are mild, moderate, or severe.

Bottom Line

In conclusion, The new rules for wearing a mask in Dubai are as follows:

-You are only required to wear a mask when you are in an enclosed space, such as in places of worship or a hospital.

-You are not required to wear a mask when you are outdoors

-You are not required to wear a mask when you are in your own home

The rationale behind these new rules is that the risk of transmission of the virus is much lower when people are outdoors and in their own homes. This is in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

The new rules are a welcome relief for many people who have been struggling to comply with the previous rules, which were much more restrictive. It is hoped that these new rules will help to reduce the spread of the virus and help to keep people safe.
